TradeNet User Guide

Where To Start
The database for TradeNet is based on a Hardware business, meaning that there are all kinds of diverse products in the system. A good place to start is to look at the Product Categories section, which allows you to browse through the full range of products by type. The hierarchical ordering of the categories means that, by use of the popup menu commands, the desired section and products can be located within just a few moments.

Searching
Once you have gained an idea of the type of products stored in the system, you can test the efficiency of the Search Engine, either by searching for specific items, or for all items by a supplier. For example search for 'mop' or for all products by 'Addis'.

Item Codes
Regular customers and heavy users of the store begin to recognise certain products by the item code assigned to them, and this code can also be searched in order to select items individual for ease of ordering. Once you have added a few items to your order, these can be viewed and amended by looking at the Shopping Basket. The item code can again be used here in the rapid code entry system, to add to an order using only the item codes.

Additional Features
The Shop Manager feature is designed to simplify ordering for customers who order regularly from a limited range of products. In the live system, a customer can manually create a shop manager list and customise it to their individual requirements. In this test system there is a sample list of items that you can look at.

The Order History section of the site responds to your previous orders. After an order has been dispatched it is quickly acknowledge by the store, pending confirmation of stock availability. Once the stock has been allocated to your order a final priced advice note is returned, including confirmation of stock levels, with any shortages listed on the advice note.

Additional Features
Once you have built up an order you can move to the checkout screen, where it is possible to enter optional delivery information or to assign an order number for your own records. Then the order can be submitted to the store. Past orders can be copied for editing or re-submission. Or multiple orders can even be stored for submission at a later date. Please contact us if you require more information.
